Agility titles earned

CH Cimmaron's Gold Standard of Marsport NA NAJ "Nugget," owned and handled by Karen Booker, finished her Novice Agility (NA) and Novice Agility Jumper (NAJ) titles at the Triune AKC Agility trials in Blue Springs over the Labor Day weekend. She earned two firsts and a second placement in each class.

Roux-Bee, 2012 Victoire Nationale Derby Champion

Congratulations to MOBC member Ben Hunt and his Brittany Roux-Bee for winning the Victoire Nationale Derby Championship in Ardmore, OK!

MOBC dog qualifies for AKC National Pointing Dog Championship

A Missouri Brittany Club dog has qualified, entered and been accepted for the AKC National Pointing dog Championship. MOKAN DURAMAX, a coming 7yr old orange and white male owned by Susan and Mike Boydston of Stilwell, KS, will run beginning February 27, 2012 across the famed Ames Plantation outside Grand Junction, TN. Of the 10,000+ pointing dogs registered by AKC each year only 132 will be allowed to participate in the event.

MAX qualified at the Missouri Brittany Club regional field trial held last October where he placed 2nd in a 21-dog open gun dog stake.. MAX has qualified 3 times for National Championships held by the AMERICAN BRITTANY CLUB at Booneville, AR or Ionia, MI. This Championship will be his first appearance in all-breed competition on a national stage.

Ames Plantation, is home of the National Championship for Pointer/Setters and has been for over 50 years. This running will be the first time the AKC has been allowed to conduct its National Championship on this world famous venue.

"What's in the Outdoors" outdoor trivia contest

The KVOE radio station in Emporia, KS is hosing the 1st annual KVOE "What's in Outdoors" outdoor trivia contest. Weekly drawings will be held from December 2nd through December 19th. Mo-Kan Quail Forever presentation

The Mo-Kan Chapter of Quail Forever would like to invite you to a free presentation by Jeff Hodges, certified quail biologist and owner of Total Resource Management. The presentation will be held 5/17/2011 in the Conservation Room of the Independence Bass Pro Shops at 7pm. Jeff will be discussing the decline of quail and what can be done to bring them back. After the presentation there will be plenty of time for your questions.

NSTRA Regional Championship

Congratulations to all of the MOBC members who qualified for the NSTRA MO-KAN Regional Elimination Championship. The trials were held in Prescott, KS on April 16th & 17th.

Special congratulations to Jamie Custer who handled his Brittany "Casey" to 2nd Runner Up, and Gary Hampton who handled his Brittany "Wyatt" to 3rd Runner Up.

MOBC Spring NSTRA trial results

In the NSTRA Event, 6 of the 16 placements (37.5%) were Brittany's and all of the owners are club members. Nick Hachman, 1st Place, John Hopkins, 3rd Place, Jamie Custer, 3rd Place, Rick Manfredi, 2nd & 4th Place, and Ken Perdue with a 2nd & 4th place. The complete trial results are below.
